Ubisoft+

The brief

To develop a sonic identity for Ubisoft+, Ubisoft’s subscription-based streaming platform that gives users access to a library of the brand’s most iconic gaming titles. The sound was intended to act as a portal: welcoming users into the world of Ubisoft+ while standing as a recognisable audio touchpoint across brand communications. We worked closely with Further, who led on visual identity and strategic positioning, ensuring the sonic elements were fully integrated within a refreshed brand system.

The challenge

Ubisoft+ is more than a streaming platform, it’s a gateway to exploration, creativity, and immersion. But unlike individual game titles, Ubisoft+ doesn’t exist within a specific fictional world. Instead, it’s a neutral entry point into many. That meant our sonic identity couldn’t lean on a single genre or emotional tone. It had to feel broad and expansive, yet distinctive and unmistakably Ubisoft+.

The challenge was to create a sound that could live alongside the intensity of Assassin’s Creed, the futurism of Watch Dogs, or the realism of Rainbow, without competing or clashing. It needed to be emotionally rich, narratively open, and rooted in the values that define Ubisoft: curiosity, creativity, and connection.

We also had to consider how and where the sound would be used. From app startup to brand stings in promotional content, the identity had to scale across platforms and formats, short enough to be memorable, but complex enough to feel crafted and premium.

The result

The result is a sonic identity that’s explorative, energising, and unmistakably Ubisoft. At its heart is a sonic logo, a crafted device that signals the start of a journey. Built from modular motifs and shifting textures, it feels both cinematic and interactive. Tonally, it sits somewhere between a technological pulse and an organic gesture, evoking both the digital infrastructure of the 

The sound is tightly aligned with the visual identity and motion system developed by DesignStudio, both sharing a sense of dimensional layering and smooth transitions. Together, they create a brand world that’s cohesive, intuitive, and full of possibility.

Ubisoft+ now has a sonic identity that’s not just functional, but foundational. It’s a sound that welcomes users, reflects the brand’s values, and stands out in a crowded digital landscape. It doesn’t just brand the experience, it becomes part of it.
